It gives a voice to associates carrying out varied roles across the UK, at all stages of their careers. The Sub-committee is part elected from the GDPC and part appointed from associates not otherwise involved in BDA committees and includes associates at various stages of their careers.

Our priorities 

  • Working on a range of issues affecting dental associates, including pay and conditions, career pathways, training issues, and morale and motivation
  • Supporting dental associates to tackle stress at work
  • Examining the impact of dental regulation and increasing bureaucracy
  • Providing support and advice to dental associates.

Chair

Sarah Canavan

Sarah Canavan is the Chair of the GDPC Associates Sub-committee and Vice-Chair of Northants LDC. She has been a practicing dentist since 1995 and has experience in both Special Care Services and General Practice.

Seats on BDA Committees can become available within a given GDPC triennium period, in which case by-elections will be held.
