Murali Srinivasan Specialist prosthodontist, Clinical Director for General, Special care and Geriatric Dentistry

Gerry McKenna Professor of Gerodontology and Oral Health Services Research, Consultant in Restorative Dentistry

Murali Srinivasan

Murali is a specialist prosthodontist and is the Clinical Director for General, Special care and Geriatric Dentistry in the Centre of Dental Medicine at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.

Murali received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Masters in Dental Surgery (MDS) from India. He undertook further specialist training at the University of Geneva. He has served as the president of the European College of Gerodontology, and has held the post of the Head of the Centre of Dental Medicine in Zurich.

He has received several research awards in the fields of prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and geriatric dentistry. His current research focus is on prevention, geriatric dentistry, dental implants, and the clinical applications of CAD-CAM technology in removable prosthodontics.

Murali is the current president of the Swiss Society of the Geriatric and Special care dentistry, the vice-president of the Geriatric Oral Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR-GORG) and fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).

Gerry McKenna

Gerry is Professor of Gerodontology and Oral Health Services Research in Queen’s University Belfast in addition to working as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within the Belfast Trust. He graduated from Newcastle University in 2004 and after working in a number of hospital posts in Scotland, completed his PhD and specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at University College Cork in 2014. Gerry is a GDC registered specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

An active clinical researcher, Gerry leads oral health research within the Centre for Public Health in Queen’s University Belfast. He has served as president of the British Society of Gerodontology, the European College of Gerodontology and the Geriatric Oral Research Group within the International Association for Dental Research. Gerry has published widely in Gerodontology and Prosthodontics and given numerous invited lectures worldwide.

Gerry is the current President of the Northern Ireland Branch of the BDA and is a member of the Health and Science Committee. He previously chaired the BDA Hospitals Group in Northern Ireland.

The centrepiece of the site is the original Grade 2-listed red brick building, which has been sympathetically renovated to retain many original features while incorporating the best of today’s technology.

Riddel Hall also has free limited on-site parking for delegates based on a first come, first served basis. In an effort to avoid disappoint and help the environment, delegates should be encouraged to commute via alternative means.
