The aim of this face-to-face day is to provide those acting in an official capacity for Local Dental Committees with an update on key issues impacting NHS Dentistry; equipping these representatives to better communicate and provide effective support and sound advice to colleagues locally.

This is an invitiation-only event, open to LDC nominated representatives and members of the BDA's General Dental Practice Committee.

British Dental Guild – Call for contributions

All delegates are reminded to please take advantage of the savings offered by booking in advance, and to make every effort to complete journeys in the most cost-effective way possible. 

The meeting will officially start with the first session at 10:30 on the Friday to facilitate as much travel to the event on the day itself as possible. Please note, no travel booked for the day prior (Thursday 30 November) will be reimbursed unless you would need to start your journey before 07:00 on the morning of the event to reach the venue for 10:30. 

The event will conclude at 17:00. Tickets for journeys before 17:15 on the Friday will not be reimbursed. Should you wish to leave the day early in order to travel before this time you will be required to fund your own travel. 

All attendees should make their own travel arrangements and follow the guidance and expense claim processes as outlined below.

LDC Representatives

The LDC Conference fund will pay the travel (and any subsistence) expenses for up to 3 representatives per LDC attending the event.

First class train travel is permitted if booked in advance and the cost is equal to or cheaper than the on the day standard fare for the same route. 

Flights will only be permitted if this means of travel proves to be more cost-effective than train travel.
Where necessary taxis to and from your home to the train station can be claimed. Public transport is excellent in London, so taxis should not be used (unless a group travelling together make this a more cost-effective option of getting around).
An LDC Representative expense claims forms must be submitted (with receipts) to the LDC Conference Treasurer within 28 days of the event.
Should an overnight stay be unavoidable, a maximum budget of £200 for one night’s accommodation applies. Hotel bookings should be made independently, and charges claimed back using the expense claim form. Please refer to the Accommodation section below for some budget-friendly hotel options located near to the venue. 

GDPC members

GDPC members attending the event will have their travel expenses covered in line with the BDA Expense claim policy. Please note, as per the policy, expenses are normally only paid to BDA members.
Where applicable, GDPC members should complete the GDPC Member expense claim form and submit it (with receipts) to Alex Cenic within 28 days of the event.
