Consultant dentists pay dispute
The BDA and BMA are seeking further negotiations with the Government to improve on the pay offer, after consultants in England voted to reject the previous proposals.
BDA consultant members voted narrowly against the Government’s pay offer, with 51% voting to reject and 49% voting to accept. There was an 81% turnout. This result mirrors that of the BMA consultants.
The BMA, which negotiates on pay and contracts for consultants on behalf of both unions, will now seek discussions with the Government as to where the proposals that were negotiated last year can be improved.
