Building a model for early oral cancer detection
Early diagnosis of oral cancer is essential. Here is an insight into how a Scottish dental student is developing a model that could help to shape cancer prevention in the future.
Oral cancer
New cases of mouth cancer have risen to a record high of 8,846, this has increased by 34% in the last ten years. Dentists are well placed to detect any issue early on and save lives.

Further your knowledge on detection, referral, and how to respond and educate your patients on what to look out for, as well as possible risk factors.
We have developed an oral cancer toolkit in partnership with Cancer Research UK. The toolkit includes a CPD quiz, with three hours of verifiable CPD.
