NHS charges are designed to discourage patients from seeking care, but have now become a substitute for needed state investment. The Government hiked charges in England by 8.5% in April 2023. The revenue raised by this rise does not go to dentists. It will do nothing to help struggling practices or the millions of patients unable to secure an appointment.
